1. Punctuality & Safety
• Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class time. Late arrivals must complete a individual warm-up before joining group activities for safety & injury prevention. Do not just join the class, talk to the instructor first.
• Please notify us by email (cork.capoeira@gmail.com) if a student will be absent for more than two consecutive weeks.
2. Uniform & Presentation
• Club uniforms & gear (Capoeira Cork shirt, pants, and Corda) should be worn to all sessions unless notified otherwise.
• Official white uniform must be worn for events and rodas.
• Long hair must be tied back. No jeans, shorts, skirts, dangling jewelry, or loose accessories are permitted during training.
• Barefoot training is customary, however if you require for any reason to wear foot wear, shoes must be clean, and not worn outside, and should be worn indoors only (for hygiene purposes). If only wearing socks, they must have grips on the bottom, to prevent slipping.
• Shoes are not permitted to be used when kicking pads, or on mats.
3. Youth & Parent Guidelines (Under 18)
• Parents must drop off and pick up students on time. Children must wait inside the gym until their parent arrives. Instructors must be notified in advance if a student is permitted to walk home alone in writing.
• Parents are welcome to watch, but no side-coaching is allowed. Please leave all instruction to the coaching staff.
• Non-participating siblings and spectators must be supervised by an adult at all times. Volume is asked to be kept to a minimum in order to not disrupt classes.
4. Conduct Standard
Capoeira Cork maintains a high standard of respect and decorum. The club reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership for anyone displaying disruptive or disrespectful behaviour, towards teachers, staff, or other students.
Further Capoeira Cork is an inclusive school, that has members from many different backgrounds and with different needs, including members with additional needs, for example, but not limited to members on the autism spectrum, or that have ADHD etc. Bullying, or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. We will aim to speak to members to resolve any issues that may arise, however if a pattern of bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour persists, we reserve the right to revoke membership.
